Lowell – “High Enough” Video (Stereogum Premiere)

Two years removed from her great collaboration and tour with Icona Pop, Lowell will release her new EP Part 1: PARIS YK in August on Arts & Crafts. Equal parts art-punk brat and sex-positive icon, Lowell challenges conventions of modern pop music, using her songs to confront issues like LGBTQ and women’s rights, as evidenced in the video for the EP’s lead single “High Enough,” a catchy electronic track produced by Grammy and Juno Award-nominated Zale Epstein (Kendrick Lamar, Schoolboy Q) that sees Lowell questioning, “Am I good enough? Am I high enough?” As for the video, it’s a colorful Warhol-pop-art-inspired clip shot on 16mm film directed (as well as shot, processed, printed, edited, and transferred) by S. Chaussee in Toronto. Check it out below.

Part 1: PARIS YK is out 8/26 on Arts & Crafts.
