Haley Bonar has been pretty criminally underrated for over 10 years now. 2014’s Last War has aged well and still gets a few bumps in the rotation every now and then. Her upcoming followup, Impossible Dream, has been shaping up to be excellent. We’ve already posted “I Can Change” and the visuals for “Kismet Kill,” and now the whole thing, filled with exquisitely layered guitars and fuzz galore, is streaming via NPR. Bonar’s voice and lyrics are as pure and potent as ever, and the constantly shifting guitar aesthetics — from a distorted jangle to swampy bass and back — make for a versatile but focused body of work. Listen.
Impossible Dream is out 8/5 via Gndwire. Pre-order it here.
