We all expected to wake up to a new Frank Ocean album this morning, but as I’m writing this, Boys Don’t Cry still hasn’t come out. We do, however, have a new 2 Chainz mixtape! That should make up for the absence of Frank, right? Right? The new 2 Chainz tape is called Daniel Son; Necklace Don, and no, that semicolon doesn’t make any sense. The tape’s title is a Karate Kid reference, of course, and it opens up with the sound of martial-arts fighting and a ringing gong. 2 Chainz has been on an entertainingly ridiculous hot streak of late, and on first listen, this tape fits right into that. It’s got guest appearances from Drake and ascendant Atlanta rapper YFN Lucci. Listen to the whole thing below.
