Back in 2014, Mozart’s Sister — the solo project of Caila Thompson-Hannant — released her debut album, Being. It was good, but didn’t really measure up to her alluringly weird early EPs, but she’s back at it again with “Eternally Girl,” a great new single that will be released as a limited-edition cassette single on her new home at Arbutus Records. It’s sharp, light, and impossibly catchy, endlessly optimistic and fate-obsessed: “I could be the one that you love,” Thompson-Hannant pleads over a twinkling beat, and she makes a good case. Listen and watch the Blake Gilley-directed video below.
The “Eternally Girl” b/w “Angel” cassette tape is available for pre-order via Arbutus Records.
