Look, there’s no reason why this should work. Wyclef is a relic of another rap era; he should be looking at Young Thug like he’s an alien, not sliding in and making great songs with him. And yet that’s exactly what he’s done with the breezy, miasmic “Elton,” coexisting beautifully with rap’s weirdest young star and sounding like he comes from the same planet.
