Norah Jones is set to follow up 2012’s Little Broken Hearts with her new album Day Breaks. We’ve already heard the bittersweet lead single “Carry On,” and today she follows up with “Flipside.” She’s said the album is a return to her jazzy, piano-written roots, and she has surely done so here. The ivory tickles drive the track, with layers of playful organ, deep-burrowing bass, and subtle drums churning along as she soulfully sings of trying to escape an ended relationship unscathed. Listen.
Day Breaks is out 10/7 on Blue Note. Pre-order it here.
