Right now, two forces of profoundly strange indie music are joining forces to become one. The New Zealand psych-pop auteur Connan Mockasin has teamed up with Sam Eastgate, the former frontman of the UK band Late Of The Pier who currently records as LA Priest, to form a new group called Soft Hair. Together, they’ve recorded a self-titled debut album that will be out later this year. And they’ve just shared “In Love,” a warped and queasy pop song laced with some serious soft-focus ’80s-movie saxophone tootling. You can hear it below. Also below, check out the duo’s glamorously sinister video for their song “Lying Has To Stop.”
Soft Hair is out 10/28 on Weird World.
