Sinkane is the project of Ahmed Gallab, a multi-instrumentalist and curator of ridiculously catchy songs, with a little help from his friends. Today the band has announced Life & Livin’ It, a new LP due out in February, and released a video for lead single “U’Huh,” which celebrates positivity in a world filled with countless terrible things. The Nick Bentgen-directed video juxtaposes images of the oppressive police forces of the Civil Rights Movement with care-free merriment as Gallab reminds us that “We’re all gonna be alright.” Here’s what Gallab had to say about it:

“Kulu shi tamaam” is an Arabic phrase meaning “Everything is great!” Times are tough. Struggles have always existed in our lives. But hope, love and the power of positivity help us stay alive. It is what inspires me to wake up in the morning, make music, and, ultimately, connect with people.
