Gavin Turek is a Los Angeles-based soul singer with an affinity for disco, electropop, and a handful of other equally extroverted dance-floor genres. Today, she’s released “Good Look For You,” a single from the upcoming EP of the same name. The track utilizes a colorful palette of deep bass, starry keys, and Turek’s own voice, which is practically a throwback in its own right. It’s Studio 54-core for the 21st century and a great representation of the forthcoming record. Here’s what she has to say about it:
I knew this song was special from the moment producer Tim K and I started writing it. The melody, bass, and synths made me nostalgic for Chaka Khan late 70s/early 80s funk and soul yet the phrase “That’s a good look for you” is so current. The song is really about knowing your value and confidently communicating it. I love a good pop song, especially if it’s genuine.

Additionally, check out the previously-released head-bobber “On The Line.”
Good Look For You is out 2/17 on Turek’s own Madame Gold Records.
