It appears that J. Cole isn’t the only massively popular rapper looking to surprise-release a new album this month. As Pitchfork points out, an iTunes listing indicates that Kid Cudi will release his much-anticipated new LP Passion, Pain & Demon Slaying 12/16 via Republic; it’ll feature the previously-released tracks “Frequency” and the Pharrell collab “Surfin’,” as well as guest appearances from André 3000 and Willow Smith. Meanwhile, Cudi has also teamed up with Travis Scott, who has gone on record calling Cudi a huge influence, for the bleary, mesmeric new track “Baptized In Fire,” which you can hear at Complex.
