A few times in 2016, the raspy-voiced Memphis rap star Yo Gotti joined Kanye West’s entourage at events like the “Famous” video premiere. And now West — making his first appearance on a rap song since he made that hard-to-rationalize appearance alongside Donald Trump earlier this week — has jumped on a track with Gotti. The new “Castro” is a skittery, synthetic banger that features Gotti alongside the all-star G.O.O.D. Music team of West, Big Sean, Quavo, and 2 Chainz. Rather than all of them taking verses, the different rappers trade off lines, which means we only get a few words at a time from West and the others. Listen to the track below.
Does a song like this make you feel any better about Kanye West right now? It doesn’t make me feel any better about Kanye West.
