Skyway Man – “Creation // Someday” Video

Skyway Man is a Nashville-based James Wallace. He’s a member of Promised Land Sound, a favorite of Alabama Shakes leader Brittany Howard (thanks to his other project James Wallace & The Naked Light), and a friend of fellow Richmond natives Matthew E. White and Natalie Prass. White’s Spacebomb Orchestra is all over Wallace’s new Skyway Man album Seen Comin’ From A Mighty Eye, as are members of Fly Golden Eagle, heCTA, and White himself.

The album is a collection of intergalactic roots music marked by his interest in UFO religion, so it’s only fitting that director Drew Bourdet’s video “Creation // Someday” feels like a supernatural vision among misty mountains that don’t feel entirely of this planet. The song itself is spare and angelic, like Jim James’ spirit leaving his body or an old country ballad ascending into the same celestial space where Radiohead’s “Motion Picture Soundtrack” exists in perpetuity. Watch it below, and stick around for previous single “Terre, 9999.”

Skyway Man have some shows coming up:

01/27 Nashville, TN @ Soulshine (Lightning 100 Showcase)
02/10 Nashville, TN @ Grimey’s (instore)
02/10 Nashville, TN @ Mercy Lounge
02/17 Nashville, TN @ Third Man Records (instore)

Seen Comin’ From A Mighty Eye is out 2/10. Pre-order it at PledgeMusic.
