“Wanting Things Makes You Shittier” is a great name for a song, and it just so happens there’s a great track behind that title too. The latest from Wild Pink’s upcoming debut album, following “Great Apes” and “Wizards Of Loneliness,” is a sparse and haunting interlude from Wild Pink in which frontman John Ross sucks the air of the room with his voice. “I kept my eye on the prize/ I ground down to the gum, milky young teeth at the bit,” he sings with determination, recalling a game of Magic The Gathering as a means to illuminate his solitary nature and loneliness.
