And the winner is… Adele! Could it have been any other way? The last of many victors on Grammy night was the one we all expected to triumph. 25 took home the trophy for Album Of The Year, completing Adele’s massive night. During her emotional acceptance speech, she vociferously praised Beyoncé’s Lemonade, implying that Bey deserved to win instead. A few moments earlier, upon winning Record Of The Year for “Hello,” Adele told Beyoncé, “I adore you, and I want you to be my mommy.” With those two wins plus a Song Of The Year trophy for “Hello,” Adele becomes the first artist to sweep the Album, Record, and Song of the year categories twice. She ended the night with five Grammys, bringing her lifetime total to 15. Watch her Album Of The Year acceptance speech below.

Solange responded by sharing Frank Ocean’s anti-Grammys post from earlier in the weekend:

UPDATE: Later in the press room Adele elaborated:

“I spoke to her before just to let her know how honored and privileged I felt to be nominated alongside her, and we spoke afterward as well and she was very gracious and humble, as always, as we’ve come to expect. And the reason I felt the need to say something is because my album of the year is Lemonade. She is my icon of my whole life. … I felt like it was her time to win. What the fuck does she have to do to win album of the year? That’s how I feel.”
