Last year we hipped you to renaissance woman Madeline Kenney, who released her Chaz Bundick-produced Signals EP on Bundick’s Company Records. Now she’s preparing to unveil Night Night At The First Landing, her full-length debut, also produced by Bundick (now known as Chaz Bear) and also coming out on his label. Lead single “Rita” is exceptional, building from understated beauty to dense guitar theatrics. It reminds me of Chicago circa ’93 as remembered in a dream — a little bit of Exile In Guyville and a lot of Siamese Dream, rendered in soft-focus with the graceful confidence of a young master. Its video, directed by Adam Murphy, makes for a compelling introduction. Watch below.
Night Night At The First Landing is out 9/1 on Company. Pre-order it here.
