Spencer Radcliffe & Everyone Else – “Pasture”

Spencer Radcliffe & Everyone Else – “Pasture”

Around the time that Spencer Radcliffe joined up with his backing band Everyone Else for last year’s excellent Enjoy The Great Outdoors, the Chicago-based Artist To Watch took down his catalog of older songs and home demos, leaving just his two proper full-length in their stead. It’s a shame because there was a ton of great stuff there, so it’s nice to hear that he’s revisited some of that old material, re-recording it with a full band and compiling it onto a new EP called If I Knew How, which comes out at the end of the month.

These new versions were recorded immediately after finishing Enjoy The Great Outdoors, and the first one that Radcliffe is sharing is a new take on “Pasture,” a song that dates back to 2011 and was included on 2014’s Keeper. It’s a gorgeous update to the song that adds in mournful horns and strings and smooths everything out nicely compared to the original.
