Peel Dream Magazine – “Pill”

Peel Dream Magazine – “Pill”

Peel Dream Magazine hail from New York City, and they make a satisfying combination of fuzzed-out melodic shoegaze. They released their debut album, Modern Meta Physic, in 2018, and followed that up with an EP, Up And Up, late last year. They recently announced their sophomore album, Agitprop Alterna, with the insistently catchy “Pill,” a swirl of mumbled voices and hazy noise.

Bandleader Joe Stevens described “Pill” as being about the “inundation of performances of normalcy and fulfillment that fuel our desire to consume – self-medication for the pain of doubt, want and need,” and it sounds more like something that would replace one of those vices, a numbing salve to clear out the sinuses of all self-doubt. Check it out below.
