Stereogum’s 50 Most Discussed Posts Of 2008

It seems like only yesterday we were prematurely evaluating Black Mountain’s latest, but the thousands of posts in our database since then suggest otherwise. In fact it’s been a whole year, and a pretty good one what with launching Videogum and electing Obama. Those were the two things that everyone is most thankful for this year.

It’s our job to post MP3s and indie rock wedding announcements. But when you share your opinions here, you do it out of love. Specifically, the love of anonymously calling someone a douchebag. Blogging about the new King of Leon video would be no fun without you guys calling us douchebags.

So we crunched the numbers and came up with this list of the 50 most commented Stereogum stories from 2008, covering controversial topics like Joe Satriani, Frances Bean Cobain’s trust fund, the new Third Eye Blind song, and Third Eye Blind’s response to our post about the new Third Eye Blind song.
