Mr. Dream – “What A Mess” & “The Room” (Stereogum Premiere)

Last year, the Brooklyn scrape-rock trio Mr. Dream released Trash Hit, their ferocious debut album. In February, they’ll follow it up with an equally asskicking new EP called Fatherland, which “is about an amusement park for fathers,” according to an email from drummer Nick Sylvester. And in March, they’ll tour the Western half of the U.S., opening for Cloud Nothings and finishing things off with a stint at SXSW. Below, we’ve got two of the EP’s seven tracks up for download: The angular, seesawing “What A Mess” and the expansively pounding closer “The Room.” We’ve also got their tour dates.
