Annie – “Hold On”

By Tom Breihan / July 16, 2013

The mid-’00s Swede-pop queen Annie has teamed up with the great London synthpop producer Richard X to crank out some absolute fucking jams in the past; they’re jointly responsible for minor classics like “Chewing Gum” and “Anthonio.” And now they’ve reunited for a full-on collaborative EP called A&R; we’ve already posted the EP track “Back Together.” The latest thing we’ve heard from the EP is a glistening and sweet track called “Hold On” — one that could’ve come out at any point in the last 25 years and still sounded like state-of-the-art studio-pop music. Listen below.

A&R is out in August.
