Bill Callahan - "Small Plane"

Bill Callahan recently was asked to do a one of NPR’s Field Recording sets in New York City. He decided on a community garden, which is just about perfect when you think about how much nature plays into the man’s music. So in this intimate little garden, with cars honking and other noise coming through, Callahan plays “Small Plane,” a new track off his upcoming album Dream River. It’s a beautiful performance, made even more so by the moments that focus on the wildlife in the garden. Best of all, just look at the photo above — it’s such a relief to see Bill Callahan not smiling especially after the scare from a few weeks ago. Watch below.

  1. Love him and the way he sometimes seems to have forgotten how to use his mouth and is stuggling to make it work.

  2. I’m really excited for the new album.
