J Dilla’s MPC And Moog Are Going Into The Smithsonian

At the 9th annual DC Loves Dilla Concert last night, a big announcement came during the tribute to the late and sorely missed hip-hop producer. The Smithsonian is currently building its Museum Of African American History, and it will include Dilla's MPC and his custom-made Moog synthesizer (one of the last Moog synths that Dr. Robert Moog personally built for someone). Below you can watch video of the event, which features a spokesperson from the museum making the announcement and a short speech from Dilla's mother, whom everyone affectionally calls Ma Dukes, and above you can find her pictured with the two instruments.
