Psychedelic workhorses Thee Oh Sees are following their Album Of The Week-winning A Weird Exits with a companion LP called An Odd Entrances. Earlier this month, we heard the wonderfully-tender first single “The Poem,” an apt display of the band’s mellower side. This time around, “You Will Find It Here” allows John Dwyer and company to channel their psych affection in the other direction, what with an introductory freak-out, a playful organ, and vocal delivery reminiscent of “Astronomy Domine.” It’s Floydian in all the right ways (even down to the album art, which looks like if Stanley Mouse designed Meddle), setting up the rest of the record appropriately. An Odd Entrances is out 11/18 on Castle Face Records. Half of the first pressing’s profits will go to Elizabeth House, a Pasadena-based charity that helps homeless women with children get back on their feet.
