Jay Z will be the first rapper ever inducted into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame. The New York-based institution announced their Class Of 2017 today, which also includes Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, Max Martin, and Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis. Songwriters are eligible 20 years after writing their first hit song, and Jay Z's Reasonable Doubt was released in 1996. The Songwriters Hall Of Fame 48th Annual Induction and Awards Dinner takes place on 6/15.

By the way, this is a win for US. I remember when rap was said to be a fad . We are now alongside some of the greatest writers in history.
