It looked like Bradford Cox already had Halloween covered with the creaky Lilys-on-Kinks-on-Shadow Ring of “Coffin Trick,” but the always prolific trick-or-treater just posted two new so-called “Halloween Dances” at the Deerhunter blog, “Danse Infernale,” or the infernal dance, and “Danse Macabre,” aka the dance of the dead. (The latter has nothing to do with the Faint.) It’s not exactly haunted house music, but then anyone who knows Cox’s work (or his interest in Dennis Cooper) ought to also know that not all haunted places are so obviously eerie.

In related news: Microcastle is officially out in the US tomorrow. If you’re in the Atlanta area, you can celebrate Halloween with Deerhunter at their release party with Pylon, Jay Reatard, and Times New Viking at Variety Playhouse.
