New Cyndi Lauper & Basement Jaxx – “Rocking Chair”

Surprising us all, Cyndi Lauper has graduated from her turn in Japan For Africa to "Rocking Chair," a collaboration with Basement Jaxx. The track appears on Bring Ya To The Brink, which is out next week and includes production work by Kleerup, Dragonette, Scumfrog, Axwell, a few with Rich Morel, and etc. On "Rocking Chair," the middle cheerleader part's a bit Gwen-y. It's an interesting upgrade, but it's also somewhat icy, diluting a bit of what makes Lauper unique. Like, hey, there's no doubting David Wolff (and Captain Lou) knew her best. Take a listen.
