As previously reported, former R.E.M. guitarist Peter Buck has been working on a solo album, and now we've got our first taste of it. As it turns out, Buck's solo song "10 Million BC" couldn't possibly sound anything less like R.E.M. It's a muscular, deranged swamp-chug, and it sounds like Buck has been wearing out just about the entire Crypt Records catalog lately. Listen to a radio rip below.

Longtime Buck buddy and collaborator Scott McCaughey debuted the song on WFMU recently, and there's still not word on when we might hear the album.
