There are lots of reasons Disclosure' Settle is one of the very best records of 2013 (so far). The best way to learn about them is to listen to the thing, though the next best may be to read Tom's expert dissection in our latest Album Of The Week dispatch. You are also advised to see the brothers Lawrence live, where their savvy garage takes on a visceral sheen, though when you do that you probably won't get all of Settle's vocals live, since there are multiple (perfectly cast) vocalists. One of those vocalists is Sam Smith, on "Latch," and watching this Jools clip is advisable because it gives you a look at this song live as you probably won't see it when you next watch Disclosure in a venue, and it also gives you a chance to enjoy Sam's head voice, which is what "Latch"'s hook is all about. (That and the stutter-wub of that beat.) Do it:
