On the soundtrack to the new movie Anchorman 2, Will Ferrell, in character as newscasting legend Ron Burgundy, teams up with Robin Thicke, of all people, to cover Christopher Cross's 1980 yacht-rock nugget "Ride Like The Wind." And on last night's episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, Ferrell, still in character, emerged from a dry-ice cloud next to Cross himself and delivered a duet that was really more Burgundy giving running commentary on the song. Even in terms of revisionist late-night "Ride Like The Wind" performances, this one had a lot to live up to -- this version, which Cross did with Michael McDonald and the Roots on Fallon a few years ago, remains the gold standard. Still, it's impressive that Cross and his band kept a straight face the whole time last night. Watch it below.
