Last year, Blur dropped out of Australia's Big Day Out Festival, allegedly due to some unresolved issue with their set time; they were said to have made unreasonable demands about playing in between co-headliners Arcade Fire and Pearl Jam. Alas, we'll never know if Damon Albarn would have joined Arcade Fire frontman Win Butler and Pearl Jam for the latter's festival-closing cover of "Rockin' In The Free World" -- the 1989 Neil Young song that has been a staple of Pearl Jam sets since the Ten days. Not that the song needed assistance from Albarn -- PJ more than fill the stage and rock the hell out of the track; Butler and Eddie Vedder trade off verses, and join voices for some gang chants when the song gets real big. Looks like a good way to close out a bash. Check out some fan-filmed video of the performance below.
