Today, with no advance notice, Danish narco-rock duo the Raveonettes released Pe'ahi, their seventh album, out into the world. The album is named for a Maui surfing hotspot, and band member Sune Rose Wagner says, "It's about a horrific near-drowning experience I had in Hawaii some years ago." On the album, the band worked with M83 producer Justin Meldal-Johnsen; it follows the band's 2012 LP Observator. And they've already shared two of the new album's songs. "Sisters" is a blaring, headlong piece of processed, vaguely electronic shoegaze, while "Endless Sleeper" juices the band's characteristic reverbed-out garage-rock sound with an active drum machine. Those two songs and the album's tracklist are below.
