Two nights ago, Arcade Fire played the first night of a two-night stand at Chicago's United Center, and they marked the occasion by covering Bo Diddley's "Who Do You Love." Last night, they upped the ante, inviting the Chicago soul and gospel legend Mavis Staples to the stage for a couple of songs during their encore. They started out doing "This Could Be The Last Time," the Staples Singers gospel classic, and launched straight from that into a cover of the Rolling Stones' "The Last Time," the 1965 B-side that the band based on the Staples Singers original. Watch a fan-made video of last night's performance below.

Staples and Win Butler have been onstage together before; he joined her for a cover of the Band's "The Weight" at Outside Lands in 2011.
