Next month will bring the release of Hypnotized by Dream Police, the synth- and drum-machine-filled project of Mark Perro and Nick Chiericozzi of the Men. That might seem like a strange combination, but the title track already proved the formula works, and their newest, “Pouring Rain,” is even better. The track uses a Roland 707 drum machine and Juno 106 synthesizer as the glossy foundation for Chiericozzi and Perro’s distorted but warmly inviting guitar riffage, and the whole thing just burns for more than six minutes. Listen to it below, and you can check them out at Trans Pecos in New York at the end of this month, with a larger tour to follow.
