Metallica are currently in the midst of a week-long run on Craig Ferguson’s just-about-to-end Late Late Show. On their first night on the show, Metallica returned to their thrash roots, busting out the classic Kill ‘Em All opener “Hit The Lights.” Last night, they went a profoundly different direction. For whatever reason, they played “Fuel,” the single from their not-great 1997 album ReLoad. I thought the band had just about disowned this stage of its history, but apparently not.
