Last year, Courtney Love announced that she would be starring in a conceptual opera piece called Kansas City Choir Boy alongside the show’s composer, Todd Almond. The musical is set to open on Thursday and run through 1/17 at a theater called Here in Manhattan as part of the Prototype Festival. Love recently talked to The New York Times about her involvement: “I’ve never done musical theater — I really wanted to do theater, but probably I’m not ready to do a play quite yet,” she admits. “It’s baptism by fire, but I’m going to hang in and give it my best.” She also performed a song called “All I Ever Wanted” from the opera, which you can watch here. You can find out more about the opera itself here.
