Spotify Says Ed Sheeran Puts More People To Sleep Than Any Other Artist

As someone who spent an embarrassing amount of time watching old Ed Sheeran videos with a friend the other night, this headline kind of confounded me. I stayed up worrying about the wayward girl in Sheeran's video for "The A-Team," unable to sleep wondering how many pre-pubescent individuals swore off eyeliner for life (among other things) after seeing it for the first time. In any case, this headline isn't about Sheeran's videos and self-serious visual aesthetic, it's about his aural ~mellow vibes~. Spotify tells Billboard that "Thinking Out Loud" is the most-streamed song around the world on 2.8 million "sleep" themed playlists. The list of the top 20 songs to be found on such playlists around the world includes a whopping total of seven Sheeran singles. Maybe this is how Sheeran became Spotify's most-streamed artist of 2014! One of those overnight streaming schemes, perhaps? Check out the 20 most slept-to (but certainly not most slept-on) songs below.
