Sweet John Bloom gets in and out quickly. Most of their tracks hover around the two minute mark -- short bursts of wild, frantic energy that get their point across as concisely as they do strongly. The Massachusetts four-piece make the kind of rock songs that feel effortless, but they're anything but. "Tell Me," off their upcoming debut album Weird Prayer, is a bratty adrenaline rush about delaying the inevitable: "I know what you're trying to tell me right now, but I ain't gonna hear it," as the band pumps up the sentiment in solidarity.
