Marissa Nadler – “Carnival”

Marissa Nadler released Sacred Bones debut, July, back in 2014, but she's kept busy since then by contributing to compilation records and covering well-known classics by likeminded artists. Last July it was Leonard Cohen's "Seems So Long Ago, Nancy," and at the beginning of the year, Nadler contributed a cover of Jason Molina's "It's Easier Now" to Through The Static And Distance, a benefit record for Molina's family. Today, she uploaded a new track called "Carnival" to SoundCloud. It's one of 13 songs included on One Hundred Thousand Voices, a compilation that benefits Active Minds, a non-profit organization that seeks to promote open discourse about mental health amongst students in the hopes that discussion will help de-stigmatize mental illness in collegial communities. The album will also include contributions from Lady Lamb The Beekeeper, Dum Dum Girls, and the Lovely Bad Things. Listen to Nadler's "Carnival" below. !--more-->
