Sun Kil Moon’s Benji followup is fast approaching — Universal Themes comes out 6/2, and we’ve already heard two tracks from it: “The Possum,” and “Ali/Spinks 2.” (Plus the hinted-at “The Possum” B-side “Cry Me A River Williamsburg Sleeve Tattoo Blues” of course). Now here’s a fourth: “Garden Of Lavender” is another ten-minute opus, a simply-strummed narrative with Mark Kozelek’s gruff voice weighing everything down. The song flutters more in the middle, and ends with a spoken-word recollection of a night of shows. Listen below.
