"Bang That," released on the first day of this month, was the first proper new Disclosure song in two years. But it wasn't the first official single from the follow-up to 2013's smash debut album Settle. That'd be "Holding On," the Gregory Porter collab that just debuted on Annie Mac's BBC Radio 1 show. On the show, the Lawrence brothers revealed that they and Porter originally wrote the song as a ballad before essentially remixing their own song to come up with this uptempo two-step garage track. It's a soulful love song a la Disclosure's signature single "Latch," but rather than massive rippling synth pulses, it's undergirded by one of the brisk, hiccuping beats that have become Disclosure's bread and butter. Hear it below.
