Lontalius – “It’s Not Love”

Eddie Johnston, better known as Lontalius, is a New Zealand teen who graduated from YouTube covers to a deal with Partisan Records. He has earned some high profile fans like Lorde and Troye Sivan, and rightly so. His debut album I’ll Forget 17 is due this spring, and the lead single “Glow” was excellent. The followup “It’s Not Love” is another beautiful offering. Johnston may just be a teenager, but he brings some truly mature, moving emotion to this song. Only pretty guitar strums and a repetitive bass drum bolster his entrancing delivery. The lyric “It sinks into your head how it hurts, but it’s not love” is too perfect as the hook itself will definitely sink into your head along with all the feels on the song (and this song has all the feels). “It’s Not Love” is so gorgeous for something so simple. Listen below.

I’ll Forget 17 is out 3/25 on Partisan. Pre-order it on MP3, CD, or LP.
