Band To Watch and best new band Mothers’ debut album When You Walk A Long Distance You Are Tired is a sad listen. You’d probably be able to gather as much from the title, but the songs exhibit a bleakness and starkness that’s sometimes hard to take in all at once. Early singles like “Too Small For Eyes,” “It Hurts Until It Doesn’t,” and “Copper Mines” were indicative of that. Thankfully, there’s a warmth to Kristine Leschper’s voice and the music that billows around it to offset the grief, that makes their debut album a comfort to sink into. Do so via NPR below.
