Bryce and Aaron Dessner went on CBS This Morning to discuss their massive new Grateful Dead tribute album, which was released yesterday. “There is chemistry, real chemistry between these groups of people coming together to play the music so well,” Aaron said of the compilation. “It wasn’t a forced kind of awkward, ‘Let’s cover the Grateful Dead.’ It was like it was already there. We were just kind of turning the faucet on essentially.” (Read our feature on the band, American Beauty: Snapshots Of The National In Transition, for more.) The National performed their cover of “Peggy O” for the show, and they brought along Bonnie “Prince” Billy to do his rendition of “If I Had The World To Give.” Watch their segment below.
