While other summer blockbuster movies like Ghostbusters and Suicide Squad are putting together soundtracks by haphazardly piling stars on songs together, credit Star Trek Beyond with getting one big song from one artist and realizing that that should be enough. "Sledgehammer," the hew Rihanna track from the Star Trek Beyond soundtrack, is not a Peter Gabriel song. Instead, it's a big, stormy ballad that Sia wrote for Rihanna. (Sia also wrote "Diamonds" for the star, so these two have a history together.) The song went up on streaming services this morning, and it also appeared in a new trailer for the movie.
