Watch Katy Perry & Carole King Sing At The DNC

Last night, in a historic moment, Hillary Clinton became the first woman ever to accept a major party's nomination for President of the United States. The Democratic National Convention had already featured live music from people like Paul Simon and Boyz II Men, and during last night's festivities, it got some more. Katy Perry, a prominent Clinton supporter since the beginning of this year's campaign, spoke briefly about the importance of voting, and she also sang two songs: The new single "Rise" and "Roar," my four-year-old's favorite song. (Clinton is really chasing that four-year-old vote.) Meanwhile OG singer-songwriter Carole King sang "You've Got A Friend," a song she wrote in 1971. Also, Sheila E and Pete Escoverdo did a percussion-solo-happy version of "La Cuna," and it was fucking badass. Watch all three performances below.
