Almost exactly a year ago we got word that the recently reunited American Football were writing new songs and thinking about releasing an album, the first since their massively influential 1999 self-titled debut. Now the Illinois emo legends appear ready to unveil some of that music. They’ve been posting vague video teasers on social media since last week, and the third in the series, which appeared this morning, features a few seconds of new music. Whether it’s a full-fledged album remains to be seen, but the promo machine is revving up for something. Check out the latest teaser below.

Let’s hope American Football LP2 really is on the way and that the song from the teaser blooms into the math-rock “Let Down” of our wildest dreams.
