Chris Brown Released On $250K Bail

LOS ANGELES, CA – FEBRUARY 3: R&B singer Chris Brown appears in court for a probation progress hearing on February 3, 2014 in Los Angeles, California. Brown has been on probation since pleading guilty to assaulting his then girlfriend, singer Rihanna, after a pre-Grammy Awards party in 2009. He has been in anger management treatment program and performing community service requirements but failure to meet probation requirements could be even further complicated by assault charges he and bodyguard Christopher Hollosy face stemming from an incident outside the W hotel in Washington D.C. last October. Chris Brown was arrested yesterday on charges of assault with a deadly weapon following a standoff with the Los Angeles Police Department at his Tarzana home. Now, NBC Los Angeles reports that Brown was released on $250,000 bail late last night. His arraignment is scheduled for 9/20.

Brown's lawyer Mark Geragos, who has been involved in a number of high-profile cases throughout the years, tweeted last night thanking "everyone for their support and well wishes" and said that "the allegations against him are demonstrably false."

After Brown was released, Ray J posted a video to Brown's official Instagram page expressing support for Brown and "the whole movement," adding that he's "not happy with how people can take a false story and blow it up into way more than it should be."
