Both Barack and Michelle Obama were keynote speakers at this year past year's SXSW, and it seems like they enjoyed the experience because the White House has just announced that they're partnering with the organization to host a special one-day miniature edition of the festival called South By South Lawn, which will take place on the front lawn of the White House. NPR reports that the event will include all three prongs of the SXSW experience: Interactive, Film, and Music. That last one is most pertinent to our concerns, and a press release says that "performances will include well-known and emerging artists who are using their music to inspire audiences." Could be anyone -- Obama certainly has a lot of musical friends!
South By South Lawn will take place 10/3.
