Natalie Mering, the contemplative singer and songwriter who records as Weyes Blood, will release the new album Front Row Seat To Earth later this month, and she’s just shared a new video for “Generation Why,” a lovely and pastoral song about growing up lost during a very particular era in American history. As with last week’s great Weyes Blood video “Do You Need My Love,” Mering directed the “Generation Why” video herself. In this one, Mering and two friends visit a dessicated scrapyard, smashing old computers and chugging green Gatorade and generally surveying the wreckage of today’s culture. It’s a compelling vision of a video, and you can watch it below.
Front Row Seat To Earth is out 10/21 on Mexican Summer.
