Earlier this year, the young singer-songwriter and NYU student Maggie Rogers blew up virally with a ridiculously confident and charming song called "Alaska." Since then, Rogers has secured herself a major-label deal and gone to work on recording her debut EP. Today, she's shared a new song called "Dog Years." Like "Alaska," it combines coffeehouse folk and dance music in ways that feel completely instinctive, and it radiates a certain sunniness that's not even remotely difficult to like.
